Heart

Ben Margolies
I am writing this blog in the top of the 7th of the Phillies game. While I am not giving up on this team, because I have come so far and have invested so much of my heart into this team, I am very disapointed. I still believe that this team can come back in this series and win it, since a three game win streak is very possible. It is hard to believe how the phillies got themselves into this situation, down 10-4 to the Rockies in the 7th. The answer to that question is poor pitching and sadly enough...managing. For all of the things Charlie has done for this team this year, game management was never one of them. It has never showed up more then in a magnified situation like today. When you remove your starting pitcher after 3 2/3 pitching is ridiculous. Sure Kendrik got off to a slow start, but he had been pitching better. After a little nubber off the bat Manuel decides now is the time to pull him. The next pitcher then proceeds to give up a grand slam to the very average Kaz Matsui. I am writing out of pure frustration right now, watching the bullpen...AKA Jose Mesa come in and not know how to pitch in the big leagues. Mesa had no business being on this post season roster and the fact that you are pitching him in a close game is terrible. This team need to kick it into overdrive and fast or before they know it, they may be watching from home, or in the words of Lon Mcheron be "wamboozled" right out of there.
